Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be a WATCH member to participate in the graduation?

No. Everyone is welcome to participate in the ceremony. For those that are not a WATCH member, there is an additional cost.

Is the diploma state certified?

No. WATCH is not an accrediting agency and the WATCH diploma is not an accredited diploma.

What are the requirements to participate?

Any student who meets the following criteria: 21 years or under and homeschooled for at least one full school year immediately prior to graduation under the Home-based Instruction Law.

Who can accompany the graduate on stage for the presentation of the diploma?

We are happy to have the immediate family join the graduate on the stage. The immediate family includes parents/guardian and siblings who still live at home.

How many people can I invite?

As many as you want to come celebrate and cheer for you. Only the family members that will be joining you on the stage will be in the reserved seating area.

Are there plans for a grad’s night out or dinner?

WATCH is only planning the graduation and reception immediately following. There are no plans for other related activities. If you are interested in planning and/or hosting an event, please write a note on the registration form and we will put you in contact with the other graduates.

Will WATCH edit the tributes?

The WATCH board may, in its sole discretion, edit anything it deems inappropriate or offensive. This will also apply to any photos that are submitted. The board will notify you in the unlikely case of any items called into question.
