Here is are some testimonies from the recent May 30th 2009 graduation:
I want to thank WATCH for being willing to organize a meaningful, Christian graduation ceremony for Home Schooled graduates and their families to experience together. We have been a part of two ceremonies now and are grateful to the thoughtful and helpful volunteers who pull together ALL the details of the day. The whole process was enjoyable and easy. The tributes were extra special and gave each of us a chance to express what was on our heart. Thank you for helping to bring celebration and closure to 18 years of parenting and teaching! God has blessed our family through your efforts.
God Bless you! D & W K :)
“Last year when my grown sons spoke at the WATCH graduation my heart was full of joy, remembering those wonderful, yet extremely sacrificial, years. As we homeschooled and nurtured them in their God-given talents and taught them the importance of being Godly men, I would often wonder if I did “it” right. I definitely have no regrets, neither do my sons, yet it became apparent as the graduation ceremony was coming to a close, we missed one important step. The formal ceremony of the graduation! We did not realize how important and God-honoring an afternoon set aside with friends and family to remember and celebrate the years of homeschooling and sacrifice would be. Both of my sons were touched and if there was one thing they would do over - it would be to go through a graduation ceremony. I definitely agree. It was pure joy and a great blessing to participate in last year and this year’s graduation as one of the current WATCH board members. To God be the glory!” Beverly Miller, Auburn WA
Diana,
It was good to see you all for the second year! Thank you for offering a Christian alternative for our Christian kids. We loved the speaker this year; he was one of the best commencement speakers I have ever heard. Dr. McKenzie was a great mix of strong Christian thought/ homeschooling father/ and a distinguished professor.
Thank you to all the WATCH board for all the organizing work beforehand and the last minute details that went in to making this a memorable day for our daughter, Keren. We appreciate the location change which made it possible for more of our friends to attend. Attending a homeschool graduation was a first time event for many of them, and from what we have heard, they were pleasantly surprised by what they experienced.
We prayed that in all, Christ would be glorified. We believed He was!
With thanks,
